Richard is an expert in risk analysis and management and serves as security director for the second largest tennis tournament in the country, the BNP Paribas Open among numerous other professional ATP/WTA Tennis, PGA Golf, and special events throughout the country.
Richard has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Management from the University of Redlands and an Associates of Science in Administration of Justice. He is also a member of the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS). Richard serves on several boards and participates in community services with a focus on youth and families.
David Sawler, CPP©, CSSP
Chief Security Officer
David Sawler is a security expert with over 25 years of experience creating and implementing physical and cyber security solutions in the US and abroad. As a leader with proven successes merging security, emergency management, and risk mitigation best practices, David has been recognized for safeguarding people, property, and information in some of the world’s most challenging environments.
While serving in the United States Marine Corps and United States Army David earned accolades from senior leaders in the State Department and Department of Defense for his security management, planning, and force protection designs. His work included protecting government, military facilities, and personnel abroad, along with conducting investigations of illegal and terrorist activities.
David holds many certifications in physical security, cybersecurity, and emergency management, including several Department of Homeland Security Emergency Management certifications. David is board certified in Security Management (CPP) by ASIS International and a Certified Sport Security Professional (CSSP) from the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety & Security. David’s formal education includes undergraduate degrees in management and criminal justice and a Master’s degree in cybersecurity with a concentration in intelligence. David’s professional memberships include the American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS), National Center for Spectator Sports Safety & Security (NCS4) and the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM).
